CCCA formalizes Code of Ethics

September 10, 2008 -- The Communications Cable and Connectivity Association, Inc. (CCCA) has adopted a formalized Code of Ethics for the organization.

The purpose of the CCCA Code of Ethics is to establish basic ground rules and a framework for professional behavior and responsibilities among its members. In time, CCCA expects that the quality commitment represented by its Code of Ethics will begin to differentiate quality cable and connectivity manufacturers and distributors from those marketing counterfeit and substandard or non-compliant products.

The CCCA Code of Ethics is segmented into three sections that provide the rules of conduct, procedures and consequential actions. The first section, "Principles of Ethics," outlines the specific goals of behavioral conduct, both socially and professionally. The second section, "Rules of Ethics," identifies mandatory and specific industry standards and procedures as guidelines for consistent quality of manufactured products and services. The third and most in-depth section of the Code, "Administrative Procedures" details the actions to be taken within the association to encourage and enforce the Code.

"A formalized Code of Ethics provides a benchmark, as well as a constant reminder of our obligations to this industry and our community."
