May 13, 2008 -- Mouser Electronics has expanded its offering of PowerCon AC connectors from Neutrik, a provider of professional entertainment connector systems. In addition to the 20 amp PowerCon connectors, the distributor is now stocking the 32 amp versions of the connectors.

The PowerCon connectors are intended for use in applications including: high-power distribution systems; professional audio environments; lighting devices and installations; and industrial applications where high current at a small form factor is required. The high-capacity connectors meet all prevailing safety standards and are approved according to VDE, UL, cUL, and JET.

The connectors are 3-pole, single-phase AC installation couplers without breaking capacity. They feature a current rating of 32 amps for voltages up to 250 VAC, as well as a proprietary locking system and cable strain relief. The solid contacts offer screw-type terminals that accommodate wires from 2.5 to 6 mm sq. (AWG 14-10).

"By stocking new products like the PowerCon Connectors from Neutrik, Mouser is able to fulfill its commitment to both suppliers and design engineers alike," comments Barry McConnell, Mouser's vice president of product marketing.
