Connector resolves integration challenges for VGA, keystone applications

Archtech/NTW's VividVGA connector supports signal transmission over UTP/STP CATx wiring and/or 5 mini-coaxial cable.

Connectivity products supplier Archtech Electronics / NTW Group has released its VividVGA connector, a patent pending, field-terminated VGA connector optimized for keystone integration with most data and audio/video applications. The company says the easy-to-install connector's screw terminal design eliminates the need for crimping and soldering during field termination, while reducing signal degradation and shorted terminations.

The fully tested, backward compatible VividVGA connector supports signal transmission over UTP/STP CATx wiring and/or 5 mini-coaxial cable. The connector supports transmission of WUXGA-quality video over UTP and STP CATx wiring up to 10 feet, and over mini-coaxial cable up to 50 feet, with XGA transmission coverage extending up to 20 feet and 160 feet, respectively, over the same media types.

Paul Foung, VP of engineering for NTW, comments, “This once-impossible integration demonstrates NTW’s commitment to setting new standards and exceeding market expectations. Users come to NTW for reliable, high performance, easy-to-install system-wide solutions."
