September 15, 2006 -- Online retailer Cableorganizer.com announced that it will be the first retailer to carry Platinum Tools'EZ-E Punchdown, a punch down hand tool that incorporates an electronics package which allows the unit to provide audible and visual confirmation of a successful termination.

The EZ-E Punchdown hand tool also features an adjustable force thumb wheel for selecting the optimal punch down force for insulation displacement contacts (IDC). According to Platinum Tools, this feature makes termination simple: a user need only turn the thumb wheel to the desired force setting, seat the wire in IDC block, and then listen and look for sound and light. Once sound and light are activated, the correct force has been achieved and the wire is terminated correctly.

The punch down tool is powered by a single 9-V battery. An industrial-strength housing protects the unit from physical damage and vibration. The tool is suitable for electrical, networking, cabling, and telecommunications applications.

Cableorganizer.com offers a range of hand tools, including models from Klein Tools, Greenlee, and HellermanTyton , encompassing hand tool kits, benders, installation and termination tools, hole cutters, toolboxes, etc.
