TVC Communications announced that Ricardo Simpson has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of IP sales and engineering.

Prior to his promotion, Simpson had been the director of the IP business unit for TVC Latin America. "Ricardo's strong technical background and business unit management experience will help drive TVC's increasing presence in the IP world," remarks Jim Manari, chief operating officer of TVC.

"Increasingly, we are working closely with our customers in offering the IP products, technical services, and the system solutions, they need to stay competitive," says Simpson. "Customers realize that the deployment of the triple play combination of voice, video, and data is now required in order to increase revenue per subscriber, reduce churn, and grow asset value."

Simpson has been active in the telecommunications field since 1994. He is a graduate of the University of Chile and holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and a Master's degree in telecommunications. He began his career in CATV with Metropolis-Intercom, S.A, in Santiago, Chile.
