October 20, 2006 -- Belden has expanded its DataTuff line of industrial Ethernet cables with the addition of three new Enhanced 4-pair, Category 5e twisted pair cables.

The new cables feature the company's Bonded-Pair technology for superior electrical performance, both before and after installation. Belden calls this after-installation performance capability "Installable Performance."

The new DataTuff cabling products include:

-- Product No. 7935A, a low smoke zero halogen, unshielded, enhanced Cat 5e EtherNet/IP-compliant cable featuring 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors with rip cord, polyolefin insulation, and a .030-inch industrial grade, sunlight-resistant, black low smoke aero halogen (LSZH) jacket. The cable is rated NEC/CEC: CM FT1.

--- Product No. 7936A, a low smoke zero halogen, shielded, enhanced Cat 5e EtherNet/IP-compliant cable featuring 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors with 24 AWG stranded TC drain wire, the company's overall Beldfoil shield, polyolefin insulation, and a .030-inch industrial grade, sunlight-resistant, black low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket. The cable is rated NEC/CEC: CMR/CMG FT4.

-- Product No. 7937A, a waterblocked/burial, shielded enhanced Cat 5e cable featuring 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors with 24 AWG stranded TC drain wire, PE inner jacket, the overall Beldfoil shield, and a sunlight- and oil-resistant black PE jacket. The halogen-free cable is fully waterblocked per Telcordia, IEC, and ICEA, and suitable for burial applications.

The new cables complement Belden's line of DataTuff copper-based and TrayOptic optical fiber industrial Ethernet cables, which comprise a wide selection of Cat 5e and Cat 6 cables, available in construction options to meet the requirements of most installation environments.
