HellermannTyton has announced the launch of Shielded RapidNet.

RapidNet is a high-performance, pre-terminated network cabling system which is designed to reduce installation time by more than 75% because it does not require on-site termination or certification testing. Utilizing a patented "plug and play" design, Shielded RapidNet offers the features of traditional RapidNet combined with added security and protection features. Shielded RapidNet is a fully-shielded Category 6 network cabling solution designed to support Gigabit Ethernet in network cabling applications that require added security and protection.

Shielded RapidNet utilizes a bundled cable with six high-performance Category 6 ScTP cables bound together with a Kevlar binder. The cassettes for Shielded RapidNet are constructed from a high-strength, lightweight thermoplastic material and have metal plating applied to both the inside and outside surfaces to ensure effective grounding of the system. This dual-layer shield ensures effective screening of emissions and immunity from external electrical noise. Each copper link is 100% factory-tested to TIA specifications and certification test reports are included with all links. A 25-year system warranty is available for Shielded RapidNet and all other RapidNet cabling systems.

HellermannTyton offers a free Web-based RapidNet Project Estimator to develop a bill of materials and estimate project costs.

HellermannTyton is based in Milwaukee, WI. For more information visit www.htnetwork.com.
