Dow increases cable-materials prices

Low-smoke zero-halogen materials will increase by $3/pound for North and South American customers.

On January 1 price increases will take effect for several wire and cable materials produced by Dow Wire & Cable. The increases apply to North and South America, as follows.

  • Unigard, Unipurge and EXP grades of flame-retardant and low-smoke/zero-halogen products will increase $3 per pound.
  • Endurance low-density polyethylene-based grades for medium-, high- and extra-high voltage applications will increase $0.20 per pound.
  • All other products will increase $0.07 per pound.

Dow issued the announcement of this increase on November 23 and said it had already notified its customers of the increase.
