March 2, 2007 -- Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI)(CPI) has introduced its Adjustable ServerRack and Adjustable QuadraRack products. Available in four heights and four depths, the rack mount units (RMUs) are designed to serve multiple storage applications, while allowing for easy installation and providing integrated grounding and bonding features.

In order to match equipment mounting requirements, the racks' front-to-rear mounting channels can be adjusted in .98" (25 mm) increments, up to 5.91" (150 mm) for each depth range, with an overall depth adjustment range from 15.75" (400 mm) to 42.32" (1075 mm) during assembly.

Each RMU is marked and numbered on the mounting channels, making it easy to locate and position equipment. A second set of holes along the sides of the mounting channels permit the addition of optional side-mounted equipment support rails which use no additional RMU space. Once assembled, mounting channels on the Adjustable ServerRack and QuadraRack are fixed in place to securely surround and protect equipment.

Dasy assembly of the Adjustable ServerRack and QuadraRack is made possible with welded front and rear equipment mounting frames that permit self-squaring. Average assembly time is only 20 minutes and involves four brackets to connect the front and rear corners of the rack, says CPI. Designed with eight mounting studs, the Adjustable ServerRack and QuadraRack requires only eight nuts and 12 bolts to complete assembly.

Integrated grounding and bonding features include a two mounting hole ground terminal block and antioxidant joint compound to connect the rack to the telecommunications grounding busbar. Rack components are bonded together during assembly and have two masked ground attachment points.

Each rack provides up to 2,000 lb (907.2 kg) of strength in an open four-post frame with solid front and rear support, which allows for easy access to equipment and cabling in data centers and equipment rooms. The Adjustable ServerRack offers square-punched holes so that mounting hardware can be changed to match specific computer server and data storage equipment mounting requirements, while the Adjustable QuadraRack has threaded mounting holes to simplify installation of patch panels, fiber enclosures and network switches.

Several accessories have been designed for the Adjustable ServerRack and QuadraRack including solid and vented shelves, equipment support rails and a cable runway mounting bracket. To support a wide range of equipment storage applications, the Adjustable ServerRack and Adjustable QuadraRack can be used in combination with CPI's two-post rack systems and cable management products/cable runways and accessories.
