September 7, 2007 -- Iogear has introduced its gold-plated HDMI to DVI-D Dual Link Adapters (GHDMIFDVIM, GHDMIMDVIF), designed to connect DVI and HDMI-enabled devices to enhance home entertainment/media centers.

The company says the products simplify the process of incorporating existing DVI source solutions with HDMI-enabled HDTVs by enabling consumers to plug appropriate adapters in desired devices and link them with a cable.

The company has also introduced a line of two-, three- and five-meter HDMI cables (GHDMI1002, GHDMI1003, GHDMI1005) that connect A/V receivers, gaming consoles and set-top boxes to an HDTV. Each cable is HDMI version 1.3b CAT-2 compliant, which the company notes incorporates higher speeds, more than one billion colors and automatic accurate audio synching, to provide a rich viewing experience.

The new cables and adapters accompany the company's two- and four-port HDMI automatic switches, which allow users to link multiple electronics to one input on an HDTV. The switches alternate automatically when the user selects the desired device by powering it on, eliminating the need for a dedicated switch remote.

"As prices of HDMI-enabled devices are continuing to drop, their integration in consumers' living rooms is growing rapidly," comments Miranda Su, VP of marketing and sales at Iogear. "With the new additions to our A/V family of products, Iogear further helps users integrate their current media center solutions with new HDMI products, creating a more enjoyable home entertainment environment."

The gold-plated HDMI to DVI-D Dual Link Adapters are priced at $19.95 each (MSRP). The cables are priced at $29.95, $39.95 and $49.95 (MSRP). The products are available immediately from all major catalog and online resellers, as well as select retail outlets, and come with the company's standard 3-year warranty on the switchers, and a lifetime warranty on the cables and adapters.
