Vicon issues announcements

December 10, 2007 -- The video surveillance systems provider recently appointed a new U.S. Western territory manager was also awarded state bid contracts in New York and Ohio.

December 10, 2007 -- Video surveillance systems provider Vicon Industries Inc. announced the appointment of Richard Stang as territory manager for the states of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and most of Idaho.

According to the company, Stang brings to the position fifteen years of territory management experience, most notably with Stanley Security Solutions and Salto Systems, Inc. He will work out of central Colorado.

"Richard's unique experience and perspective on our industry will serve him and our customers well as we work to fully develop the Rocky Mountain territory," comments Mark Leedy, Western sales director at Vicon.

Seperately, the company announced that it has been awarded state bid contracts in New York and Ohio through those state's respective procurement offices. This arrangement allows New York and Ohio state agencies and government entities to specify and purchase Vicon products without going to bid.

State bids contract are awarded on the basis of product quality, pricing and best value to compliant contractors within the regions. Pricing will be based on Vicon's GSA (Government Services Administration) contract with the federal government.
