May 30, 2007 -- AFL Telecommunications has announced the opening of a West coast warehouse facility for bulk fiber-optic cable. The warehouse, located in southern California, is designed to increase delivery responsiveness to AFL's distribution partners located throughout the Western U.S.
"With significant manufacturing capabilities and capacity at our manufacturing location in South Carolina, we are hopeful that this step will allow for additional growth in what has been one of our fastest growing product segments," says Mike Booth, vice president - fiber-optic cable and conductor accessories for AFL. "We're excited about the facility and the benefits that we feel that it will bring to our customer partnerships in the West."
The facility will initially hold common configurations of indoor and indoor/outdoor tight buffered fiber cables.
"AFL is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service and support," comments Doug Baker, premise cable product manager for AFL. "This initiative is a logical step towards establishing AFL as a premier supplier of fiber-optic cables in this dynamic region."
AFL manufactures a broad line of premise fiber-optic cables at its facilities in the Spartanburg, South Carolina area.
