MRV Communications revamps partners program

Aug. 13, 2004
August 13, 2004 - Program provides suite of sales, marketing and technical support programs.

MRV Communications Inc. has updated its MRV Americas Partners program that is designed to provide better support for high-volume VARs and offers focused integration and technical support services to vertical-market solutions providers.

MRV manufactures components for Fiber-to-the-Premise networks.

The MRV Americas Partner Program provides a complete suite of nearly 30 sales, marketing and technical support programs, including marketing incentive funds, lead-generation programs, account management, and technical assistance and others. Since the program's debut in 2003, the company has doubled its channel partners to more than 400.

Changes to the program include the creation of Platinum and Platinum Plus tiers for partners with sales volume commitments of more than $2 million annually. These partners will receive the maximum marketing benefits, technical support and pricing discounts offered by the program as well as extensive on-site product training.

To attract vertical market systems integrators, MRV has instituted the Select Partner Program, with a focus on working with VARs that specialize in government, storage, and healthcare markets. The program is an overlay to the MRV Americas Partner Program to provide specialized technology integration support, and customized sales support tools such as request for proposal (RFP) tools, focused presentations and marketing documentation.

"The success of our Americas Partners program has exceeded our expectations and have given us an opportunity to make some changes that will help us to focus our training and marketing resources to better support our partners at all levels," says Chris Tenes, MRV vice president of Americas sales. "We're excited to kick off these program changes with such quality partners as Dynavar and Force 3."

The company also announced that Dynavar Networking Inc., a voice, video and data solution provider based in Bellevue, WA, is its first Platinum Partner. Dynavar works with telephone and Internet service providers and enterprise clients in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central and Latin America, providing complete network design, installation and customer support.

"We are excited about the improved training benefits of the new MRV program because they will empower more of our team to deliver a networking solution that is optimized to the needs of our clients," says Greg Miller, president and COO of Dynavar.

The first Government Select partner is Force 3 Inc., Crofton, MD. Force 3 is a leading IT solutions provider providing products and services that help Federal government agencies to better manage their network and bandwidth requirements. The company's strong reputation has made it a preferred IT services and hardware provider to hundreds of government agencies.

"It is only through very tight integration of systems that we are able to meet the unique needs of our government clients. We look forward to taking advantage of MRV's technical services to continue to deliver complex systems that work seamlessly," says Gary Brown, senior vice president of sales for Force 3.

MRV is based in Chatsworth, CA. For more information visit www.mrv.com.
