Systimax Solutions (www.systimax.com) has introduced the Systimax AirSpeed Solution, and enterprise wireless LAN solution. One of the first structured connectivity vendors to offer and entire wireless LAN solution, Systimax Solutions has expanded its ability to service the key LAN connectivity needs of the enterprise market.
"We are very excited to announce this new wireless solution," said Peter Karlsson, senior vice president of sales for Systimax Solutions. "Delivering end-to-end copper and fiber solutions coupled with complementary wireless LAN solutions, Systimax Solutions has made wireless infrastructure an integral part of enterprise network design. In addition to providing the convenience of a single source, customers will now be able to deploy a wireless system at the same time they install the general LAN infrastructure, which we believe will deliver reduced costs for the customer."
The Systimax AirSpeed Solution combines state-of-the-art, enterprise-class access points (APs) with Signal Enhancing Antennas (SEAs) and rack-mounted Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices to enable mobility, productivity, and network security in the workplace.
The Systimax AirSpeed AP542 and AP541 APs overlay rich features to the 802.11 standard to give enterprise IT managers peace of mind when extending mobility to their network. The AP542, the solution's premier access point, is a dual-band, tri-mode device that simultaneously supports 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g clients for greater deployment flexibility. Systimax believes both APs offer the highest-performing wireless technology available on the market and support the most advanced security protocols, to include an easy software upgrade path to the recently ratified 802.11i standard. Additionally, the AirSpeed APs incorporate unique cable-management design features to ease installation.
AirSpeed SEAs are designed to provide a clear RF signal where coverage is critical and in environments that might obstruct signal transmission. Inserting power over the existing Ethernet cable, the solution's 802.3af standard-compliant, midspan PoE injectors are a cost-effective alternative to electrical wiring to the AP. The PoE solution maximizes the cost efficiency by typically requiring only one installer for both power and the wireless LAN.
"Systimax Solutions has a long history of anticipating future networking demands in the structured connectivity market, and the Systimax AirSpeed Solution is yet more evidence of our customer focus," said Luc Adriaenssens, vice president, research and technology for Systimax Solutions. "Moreover, by utilizing a Systimax AirSpeed solution along with a complete Systimax Structured SCS cabling solution today, organizations can be better prepared for future wireless innovations."
Adrianssens further commented, "Ironically, wireless devices such as wireless APs require a vast amount of cabling infrastructure and planning, and our connectivity expertise places us in a prime position to provide enterprises with a complete infrastructure solution."
