Jan. 26, 2004 - Stuart C. Irby Co. donates $100,000.

The National Association of Electrical Distributors has announced a $100,000 contribution by Stuart C. Irby Co. in Jackson, MS. to the association's Education & Research Foundation.

"As a long-time member of NAED, we thought we should join with other distributors in taking the foundation to the next level," says Irby. "We all have challenges that focused research and education can help us meet."

Since its founding by Stuart Chalmers Irby in 1926, Stuart C. Irby Co. has expanded to 39 locations in nine states. With more than 700 trained staff, the
company has become one of the South's largest electrical distributors, providing utilities, industries, and builders of residential and commercial properties with the materials and the know-how to meet their electrical requirements.

"We are thankful for the Stuart Irby Company's donation to the NAED Foundation," says Bill Elliott, chairman of the NAED Foundation and president of Elliott Electric Supply in Nacogdoches, Texas. "We value this act of leadership in helping the foundation build a solid base of funding. With their gift, we can dedicate consistent resources to creating cutting-edge education and research for the industry."

The company's donation will become part of an endowment fund for the NAED Education & Research Foundation. The principal amount of the endowment will
remain untouched, while the interest will be used to commission future projects and studies.

As a $100,000 donor, Stuart C. Irby Co. will have a permanent position on the Channel Advantage Partnership Council, which will help select future educational programs and research projects.

NAED is based in St. Louis, MO. For more information call 936-569-1184.
