InfiniSys teams up with NextGen Fiber Optics

Oct. 12, 2004 - Companies will make new solution for fiber-to-the-apartment.

InfiniSys Inc. has teamed up with NextGen Fiber Optics to offer NextGen's Blolite technology as part of a new fiber-to-the-apartment solution.

Fiber-to-the-apartment (FTTA) systems are designed for multi-family or student housing situations. They can be used for the deployment of technologies including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), high-speed Internet, home automation, access control and IP-based alarm systems. The new system is designed to provide more efficient multi-family technology amenities by reducing the amount of space needed for communication equipment rooms, and by delivering a cabling system designed with future services and capabilities in mind.

Blolite technology uses flexible microducts that can be installed over longer distances and through more difficult terrain than standard copper wiring. Optical fibers are then blown through the microducts using compressed air. The post-installation blowing system is designed to allow increased flexibility in the amount and type of optical fiber inserted into the microducts.

NextGen Fiber Optics is based in Cincinnati, OH.

InfiniSys, based in Ormond Beach, FL, is a low-voltage designs consultant for the multi-family and student housing markets. For more information visit www.electronicarchitect.com.

These Tower Tech XR cooling towers use evaporative cooling to remove heat generated within the data center by IT equipment. Composite cooling towers are more compact and significantly lighter than metal towers. They arrive at a data center site pre-built.
Data center designers shouldn’t sleep on the benefits of fiberglass construction materials.
