Ian J. Timmins was born in St. John’s Newfoundland Canada, and received a B.Sc. in Physics and M.Eng in electrical engineering from McMaster University, Canada in 1997 and 1999 respectively. He received the PhD from Memorial University, St. John's Canada, in EE in 2009. He has worked as a Hardware Engineer for Cisco Systems, San Jose, CA and Dell Computer Corp., Round Rock, TX. Currently he is the Director of Engineering for Optical Cable Corporation in Asheville, NC. Dr. Timmins’ areas of interest include in building wireless communications, antennas and propagation, high performance fiber and copper interconnect design, signal integrity, and full-wave EM methods.
