Switch enables four separate HDMI displays via Category 5e or 6 cabling

MuxLab’s HDMI 4x4 Matrix Switch enables 70-meter reach and supports Power over Ethernet.

The new HDMI 4x4 Matrix Switch (500416-PoE) from MuxLab Inc. “allows up to four different HDMI sources to be connected and/or distributed to up to four HDMI displays via Category 5e/6 unshielded twisted-pair cable,” the company said when announcing the product. “The new 500416-PoE works in conjunction with MuxLab’s HDMI receivers, supporting up to 230 feet (70 meters) at all resolutions up to 1080p via Cat 5e cable.”

The company says the switch is ideal for applications including commercial and residential AV systems, classroom projector systems and boardroom systems. Marc Bohbot, MuxLab’s director of research and development, commented, “The Matrix’s management functions include push-button, IR, USB , RS232 and webserver interface. This makes the matrix versatile and easy for anyone to use.”

The product is also available as a Power over Ethernet kit that includes four PoE receivers, the company adds.
