Sarix mini domes go outdoors, indoors and resist vandalism

Not rain nor snow nor even desert heat can adversely affect these cameras, their manufacturer Pelco says.

Two new additions to Pelco's Sarix line of cameras - the IM-E Series Environmental and the IM-V Series Vandal-Resistant - are fixed domes that allow the line serve indoor, outdoor and vandal-prone applications.

Sara Scroggins, senior product marketing manager with Pelco, says, "The IM-V and IM-E series deliver a compact and affordable solution for customers looking to utise the award-winning Sarix technology platform in even the most challenging environments." Pelco says the cameras are particularly suited for corrections, facilities, schools, apartment buildings or any location where video security equipment could be at risk. The IM-E Series Environmental camera is an indoor/outdoor system that its manufacturer says is ready for rain, snow, or desert heat. It provides autofocus capability, low-light performance down to 0.03 lux as much as 1.3-megapixel resolution and a built-in camera sabotage anlytic, Pelco says.

"This is the latest example of how our imaging engineers have been able to adopt the Sarix technology platform to deliver a new solution for the industry," Scroggins continues. "Our imaging engineers have made tremendous advances with Sarix technology, releasing more than 45 cameras in the first year."

The units begin shipping in January 2011.
