Embedded in Belden’s Suzhou, China plant, BEC-Shanghai plays a vital role in researching and developing mission-critical solutions for our customers. This facility is designed and built with world-class equipment to research, test, and verify multiple industry standards, including IEC, UL, VDE, and TUV. It is the world’s first VDE TDAP certified lab for Cable Drag Chain Testing.
“When we develop a cable for a specific robotic application, and we say that the cable will pass 50 million flex cycles, we mean it, because we have tested and developed the product in our laboratories,” says Fredric Frantz, Vice President Channel & Solution Selling, APAC, highlighting the reliability of the facility, testing procedures and proof of concepts.
BEC-Shanghai is part of Belden’s global R&D expansion plan. In addition to creating One Belden solutions, the BEC center has a goal to research and develop IT/OT convergence solutions, therefore creating an unmatched product portfolio. With that, customers will be seeing outcomes through cases like Advanced Analytics and Asset Optimization, MES Optimization, Remote Management and Commissioning, and Sensor Fusion and Cooperative Automation.
