The 2020 Ethernet Roadmap is the industry’s only Ethernet roadmap.

Created by the Ethernet Alliance, the voice of the Ethernet technology community, the 2020 Ethernet Roadmap is the industry’s only Ethernet roadmap.

The map provides the industry "with the directions needed to navigate the many roads making up today’s Ethernet ecosystem," notes the consortium.

With all the new standards presently being released by the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group and the emergence of supporting technologies, navigating today’s Ethernet matrix has grown increasingly complex.

"When looking at today’s Ethernet, the application space must be considered before the relevant speeds and solutions can be determined," adds the Ethernet Alliance. "The 2020 Ethernet Roadmap will help users plot their path through the myriad of rates and solutions available today."

Ethernet nomenclature is explained in the chart, which also alludes to technical reference material that will help users understand how Ethernet technology is achieving speeds of 100GbE, 200GbE, and 400GbE.

The beautifully drawn map is packed full of information. The roadmap is broken into two parts: A two-sided, illustrated map that illustrates the speeds and application spaces on the front side and the Ethernet ecosystem and technologies on the backside.

Also available as a folded, printed map to be given away at various Ethernet Alliance events, the PDF map has enough resolution to print on a 24” x 36” poster.
