Web seminar to focus on data-center cabling

July 7, 2005 - Scheduled to take place July 19 at 3:30 PM EDT, the online seminar will feature presentations from four industry experts.

A seminar delivered via the World Wide Web will focus on cabling issues within data-center environments. Scheduled to take place Tuesday, July 19 at 3:30 PM EDT, "Cabling the Data Center" will include four presentations-one on the TIA/EIA-942 standard, two on cabling-connectivity within the data center, and one on thermal-management challenges and solutions.

Gary Bernstein of HellermannTyton (www.hellermann.tyton.com) will open the seminar with an overview of the TIA-942 data center cabling standard. Following his presentation, Dave Percival of ADC (www.adc.com) will address copper-cabling options in data-center environments, and Doug Coleman of Corning Cable Systems (www.corning.com/cablesystems) will present on fiber-optic options in the data center. Wrapping up the seminar will be the thermal-management presentation delivered by Lance Withey of Chatsworth Products (www.chatsworth.com).

This Web-based seminar is the second such offering from Cabling Installation & Maintenance, which in May hosted an online seminar covering 10GBase-T and Augmented Category 6 cabling. Interested individuals can register for the July 19 data-center seminar, free of charge, at www.cable-install.com.

The data-center seminar will be archived on that Web site for 12 months, and individuals who cannot attend the live event can view the archive free of charge. The 10GBase-T/Augmented Cat 6 seminar currently is archived on that site and is available for viewing free-of-charge as well.
