The Communications Supply Corp. (CSC) blog has posted a link to Berk-Tek / Nexans' latest “Standards Watch: LAN Standardization Newsletter." The useful PDF technical document contains a brief summary of all the LAN cabling infrastructure standards projects that were in process in 2012, while providing insight into cabling standards that are in the works for 2013.
LAN applications standards covered in the document include: 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s Ethernet over twisted-pair and copper cabling; 100 Gb/s Ethernet over multimode optical fiber cabling; and 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s Ethernet over single-mode optical fiber cabling.
