July 24, 2001 APW (www.apw.com), a manufacturer of enclosures, thermal-management products, power supplies, and backplanes, announced that it has received registration by Underwriters Laboratories to TL 9000. In a written statement announcing the registration, APW said, "TL 9000 is a cooperative effort among leaders in the telecommunications industry to define the quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation, and maintenance of products and services."
The company also said that performance and cost-based metrics are included in TL 9000 registration. "APW takes pride in our contributions to a cleaner, healthier environment for our employees, communities, and customers," said Jim Cox, a member of APW's quality-control staff.
