April 18, 2001 The Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA) announced that 93 products have passed the rigorous Wi-Fi certification testing. Products awarded the Wi-Fi logo have undergone strict, rigorous, and independent testing at Agilent's Silicon Valley Networking Lab (SVNL). Testing usually takes two to four days per product to complete. SVNL has built a reputation for providing objective, high-quality performance, interoperability and functional testing services. WECA also announced that it has awarded 14 additional Wi-Fi certifications for wireless LAN product interoperability. The ongoing acceptance of Wi-Fi certification by a broad range of companies reinforces it as the single wireless LAN standard for the home, small office, enterprise, and public access areas. There are currently 93 Wi-Fi certified products from 38 companies. For a complete list of companies with Wi-Fi certified products visit www.wi-fi.org.
