Wireless Association targets license-exempt issue

May 18, 2001 The Wireless Communications Association board of directors— will convene for their next meeting in Boston on June 24, on the eve of the annual show for the fixed wireless broadband industry, WCA 2001.

May 18, 2001 More than 30 members of the Wireless Communications Association (www.wcai.com) board of directors—including seven new representatives-- will convene for their next meeting in Boston on June 24, on the eve of the annual show for the fixed wireless broadband industry, WCA 2001.

New board members include several of the world�s largest spectrum owners and advanced equipment providers, including AIRL2LAN Inc. chairman and CEO Jai Bhagat, who was named to lead the WCA License Exempt Alliance to foster opportunities in this fast-growing wireless sector.

Other new board members are:

David Gibbons, AT&T Fixed Wireless Services, vice president and chief architect/fixed wireless; Jacques Paquin, Inikshuk Internet Inc., president and COO; Peter Howley, IPWireless Inc., CEO and co-founder; J. Curtis Henderson, Nucentrix Broadband Networks Inc., senior vice president and general counsel; Rick Lawrence, MSI Inc., vice president/broadband wireless access.
