TIA TR-8 issues 4 calls for interest for wireless systems projects, TCP/UDP port assignments, mobile data peripheral interfaces

Feb. 6, 2018
The first two calls for interest are in regard to the TR 8.18 Committee’s new project for wireless communications systems --- performance in noise and interference limited situations. The second two are in response to the TR 8.5 Committee’s Project for Mobile Data Peripheral Interface and Project for TCP/UDP Port Number Assignments. Per TIA, the individual press announcements for each new call for interest are listed.

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA - Arlington, VA), which develops standards for the information and communications technology (ICT) and information transport systems (ITS) industries, has issued four new Calls for Interest from its TR-8 committees.

The first two calls for interest are in regards to the TR 8.18 Committee’s new project for wireless communications systems --- performance in noise and interference limited situations. The second two are in response to the TR 8.5 Committee’s Project for Mobile Data Peripheral Interface and Project for TCP/UDP Port Number Assignments.

Per TIA, the individual press announcements for each new call for interest are as follows:

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities. For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Victoria Mitchell at [email protected].

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee.

TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Visit tiaonline.org.
