Your encouragement to form associations for licensing legislation (September 1994, page 3) is contradictory to history and market forces that have made the telecomunications industry such a booming marketplace.

Your encouragement to form associations for licensing legislation (September 1994, page 3) is contradictory to history and market forces that have made the telecomunications industry such a booming marketplace.

I recall that deregulation and a repudiation of governmental control brought our industry to the point where it is today. In an age when the government does so many things so poorly, why would we now ask it to step in and stifle this industry`s growth?

I will certainly support industry standards and certification to allow the customer to identify qualified individuals (for instance, RCDD), but I cannot support a return to governmental bureaucracy just as the competition is underway.
