Chart defines TIA-606-B identifiers
Chart provided by Dymo Industrial illustrates examples of acceptable identifiers under TIA-606-B.
A blog post by Dymo Industrial's Al Feaster wraps up a few of the most important changes that technicians should be aware of regarding TIA-606-B, which the TIA 942.6 committee approved for publication this past February. Once approved by ANSI, TIA-606-B will be the new Administration Standard for Telecommunications Infrastructure.
Feaster notes that there are now seven identifiers required under TIA-606-B, whereas previously only four were required. Existing TIA-606-A identifiers include: TS, Horizontal Link, TMGB, and TGB. New identifiers added to TIA-606-B include: cabinets, racks, enclosures and wall segments; patch panels or blocks; and cables between cabinets, racks, enclosures and wall segments.
As provided by Dymo's Feaster, the chart below illustrates several examples of acceptable identifiers under TIA-606-B.
