June 8, 2009--Jeff Silveria, most recently of SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International), has been appointed new director of standards for BICSI.
Silveira, says the association, "intends to foster and promote the BICSI Standards program mission to develop standards of high value and import to the information transport system industry and its related fields; provide members with exceptional service and information; as well as adopt and embrace new opportunities and technology to better BICSI's ability to serve its members and industries."
Silveira says, "The need for the ITS industry and its standards is rapidly growing in areas such as healthcare, education, and electronic security—areas that will positively affect the lives of people worldwide. When this is combined with the immense knowledge, support and passion from our standards volunteers, the BICSI standards program is poised to have a significant impact on the ITS industry."
