TIA FOLS offering Web seminar on standards

April 20, 2009 -- TR-42 Chair Herb Congdon will present; attendees can earn 1 Continuing Education Credit from BICSI.

April 20, 2009 -- The Fiber Optics LAN Section of the Telecommunications Industry Association (search our Website for references to TIA) will host a free Web-based seminar entitled "LAN Standards, News and Trends" on Monday, April 27. The seminar begins at 11:00 am EDT and will last for 1 hour.

Herb Congdon, chair of the TIA's TIA TR-42 Engineering Committee will present. The seminar will cover the following standards activities.
--The latest developments in the TIA-568-C series
--The release of TIA-1005
--Current status of the TIA-942 Data Center Standard
--TR-42.2, 42.12, and 42.13 work on Multi-tenant/Multi-dwelling units (MTU/MDU)
--TR-49 Engineering Committee for Healthcare Communications Technology
--TIA's focus on green initiatives
--Application-standards activities within the IEEE

Participants are eligible to earn one Continuing Education Credit (CEC) from BICSI.
