Aukua Systems recently introduced the MGA8410, its next-generation Ethernet and IP test platform that the company says “is designed to accelerate and simplify complex network validation across a broad range of industries.” Those industries include data center and enterprise networking along with automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial automation, and semiconductor validation.

“Building on the success of the award-winning MGA2510, the MGA8410 delivers higher port density and expanded functionality in a compact, 1U-high, SFP-based form factor,” the company explained when introducing the platform. “Its advanced FPGA-based architecture delivers the highest levels of precision and performance.”

3 Testers In 1

One of MGA8410’s distinguishing characteristics is its 3-in-1 capability, integrating a traffic generator/analyzer, network impairment emulator, and inline packet capture and analyzer in a single device. Aukua says these capabilities, in a compact device, make the MGA8410 unique. “This consolidated approach eliminates the need for multiple tools, reduces setup complexity, expands use-case coverage, and significantly lowers overall test costs,” the company explained.

The test platform also features the ability to simultaneously perform traffic generation and inline packet capture or network impairment emulation—meaning engineers can use the traffic generator/analyzer to test devices under specific conditions, such as jamming, throughput validation, and latency or jitter measurement while simultaneously capturing and analyzing live data streams without interruption.

Capabilities Beyond Base-T

MGA8410 supports Base-T, Base-T1, Base-R, Base-X, and Base-RH interfaces for all rates from 10 Mbits/sec to 10 Gbits/sec, including the new multi-gigabit automotive Base-T1 standards for 2.5G/5G/10GBase-T1 defined in IEEE 802.3ch.

Sudarshan Rajagopal, co-founder and vice president of Aukua Systems, commented, “The MGA8410 represents a major step forward for our customers developing next-generation Ethernet and IP products and technologies. By combining higher port density with proven generation, impairment, capture, and monitoring capabilities, engineers can now execute rigorous, reproducible validation workflows with unmatched accuracy and efficiency.”

He added that by delivering precise, repeatable, real-world testing in a single, integrated solution, MGA8410 helps organizations accelerate development cycles, improve product quality, and build more resilient networked systems.
