Graybar, Accu-Tech distributing Fluidmesh systems

Dec. 21, 2009
The manufacturer's wireless-mesh products serve security, video-surveillance, condition-monitoring, and data communications applications.

Contractors who purchase their cabling-system products through Accu-Tech or Graybar can now also find a suite of mesh-networking security products through those distributors. In the past three weeks Boston, MA-based Fluidmesh Networks announced distribution partnerships with both companies.

Wireless mesh networks differ from traditional wireless local area networks in that with wireless mesh, the equipment that acts as the node or access point has the ability to communicate with the network’s other nodes-forming a mesh-to determine a signal’s path. That path ultimately leads back to a single, high-speed connection to the Internet.

Currently a Mesh Networking Task Group within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802.11 Working Group is developing the IEEE 802.11s standard to specify wireless mesh networking.

Fluidmesh provides wireless systems for security, industrial, and other environments. It says it is focused on developing wireless technology for security, video-surveillance, condition-monitoring, and data communications in large areas that are at risk—namely, municipalities, industrial plants, schools, seaports, marinas, and other sites.

“Graybar gives us great reach in the North American market where they have strong relationships with installers and end users,” said Stan Schreyer, vice president of sales for Fluidmesh.

“Distribution and support from Accu-Tech means that our customers will have one-stop shopping as well as superior technical support,” he added. “Accu-Tech’s goal is to create a solid partnership with manufacturers. Their training efforts and support services are in synch with the Fluidmesh philosophy. This is very important for us as we want to offer not only our technology and products, but also our know-how and experience in the wireless industry.”
