WiFi site survey program maps 802.11 ABGN networks

Sept. 2, 2010
Software package allows users to visualize signal level, interference, access point coverage and data rates.

The TamoGraph brand WiFi site survey software from TamoSoft conducts RF site surveys for 802.11 a/b/g/n networks. According to TamoSoft, which develops network analysis software, its WiFi site survey program features simple and fast data collection, automatic access-point location and comprehensive wireless LAN analysis with visualizations of signal level, interference, access-point coverage areas, data rates and network issues. The application presents detailed information about every access point, including channel, maximum data rate, vendor and encryption type.

Pavel Shevchouk, chief executive officer of TamoSoft, says TamoGraph "condenses 12 years of our network analysis and monitoring experience into a single application." He says the company has used the expertise it has gained over those years "to create a product that gives WLAN professionals insight into complex and difficult-to-predict WiFi environments at both pre- and post-deployment stages." He adds that use of the software package reduces the time and cost involved in deploying and maintaining WLANs.

The WiFi site survey software package can be purchased - and a 30-day trial version as well as user manual and technical specifications - can be downloaded from the TamoSoft web site.
