Fujikura's SWR WTC was selected by Israel's Partner Communications following a successful deployment in central Tel Aviv.

Fujikura Ltd. announced that Partner Communications Ltd. has selected Fujikura's SpiderWeb Ribbon (SWR) Wrapping Tube Cable (WTC) as a key product to assist in the rapid deployment of a full FTTH [fiber to the home] network in Israel.

Utilizing the WTC in conjunction with the Fujikura 90R mass fusion splicer to simultaneously splice 12 fibers significantly reduces cable installation time for the deployment of Partner’s FTTH network.

Fujikura notes that the use of its SWR technology within the WTC structure allows installation teams to joint 12 fibers at the same time, resulting in a reduction of up to 80% in the installation time, compared with traditional cables that require fibers to be spliced individually.

Fujikura's SWR WTC was selected by Partner following a successful deployment in central Tel Aviv, which was the first use of WTC in the Israeli market and was supported by Fujikura’s local representative, Fibernet.

Yonatan Sudmi, director of Partner Communications' Fiber Infrastructure Division, commented, “We have been impressed with the ease, performance, and speed at which we can install WTC. Partner has high expectations from our suppliers, just as our customers have high expectations from us. We require solutions that allow us to reduce cost and time but never compromise on the quality of service to our customers.”
