UL Solutions warns: Industrial cables using Certification mark without authorization

July 25, 2023
Heat-resistant flame-retardant cables carrying the brand name Orbit are not authorized to use the UL Certification mark, and UL Solutions recommends removing the cables from service.
UL Solutions issued a warning July 14 that heat-resistant flame-retardant (HRFR) cables sold under the brand name Orbit bear unauthorized UL Certification marks. “The HRFR cables have not been evaluated by UL Solutions to the appropriate safety standards and it is unknown if the HRFR cables comply with any safety requirements,” UL Solutions said.

The cables have been known to be sold by the India-based company Navdeep Electricals. “UL Solutions recommends that this produce be removed from service,” it said, adding that the cables “may have been sold by other retailers and ecommerce sellers in India.”

UL Solutions provided the images of the cable that appear on this page.
