Teledyne Thermatics manufactures high-performance wire and cable for high-temperature applications. The unit will be integrated into coaxial-cable manufacturer Comm Scope`s Network Cable operation.

Crius Inc. (Bethesda, MD), a telecommunications engineering company, has announced the launching of the Crius Foundation, which will offer a "boot-camp" telecommunications engineering curriculum that is not vendor-specific. The foundation will certify at three levels: specialist, generalist and junior engineer, the latter designation meant to foster interest in the field at the high-school level. The Crius Foundation will also be developing instructional aids to further its program.
