L-com Global Connectivity has released a new series of its GigE RJ45 Ethernet cable assemblies, specifically made for machine vision applications. Available with either a Category 5e or 6A rating, the new GigE assemblies are built to meet the standards for both machine vision camera and PoE applications.

The new rugged assembles are built with L-com's outdoor-rated, industrial, high-flex cable for maximum durability and are suitable for outdoor, industrial or harsh network installations. The cables are also double-shielded to minimize EMI/RFI interference and feature a Flame-Retardant Thermoplastic Elastomer (FR-TPE) cable jacket to protect against oil, sunlight (UV) and weld splatter. Custom lengths, labeling, connector configurations and packaging are available. Screw-mount hardware provides a secure connection and is beneficial in many applications where standard RJ45 connectors can become dislodged due to jostling, vibration, gravity, etc.

“L-com’s GigE RJ45 Ethernet cable assemblies are specifically designed to the specifications of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) machine vision standards. As a member of AIA, customers can rest assured that our machine vision cable assemblies will mate when using any machine vision standard device,” said Dustin Guttadauro, product manager at L-com.
