Cobra Wire and Cable acquired

Sept. 2, 2011
Materials supplier EIS will add Cobra to its specialty wire and cable business.

EIS, a distributor of process materials, production supplies and fabricated parts, has acquired Cobra wire and Cable from Merit Capital Partners and Fulton Capital. Cobra has headquarters and a distribution facility in Hatboro, PA and additional distribution facilities in Plano, TX and Seattle, WA. Cobra supplies products to the telecommunications, uninterruptible power supply, battery and marine markets.

Cobra president Peter Sheehan will lead the wire and cable division of EIS. EIS president and chief executive officer Bob Thomas described the acquisition as "consistent with our strategy to grow our current specialty wire and cable business into targeted adjacent markets. Cobra will operate as a separate division of EIS and continue operations with all existing customers and suppliers from their current facilities."
