Custom Cable Industries (Tampa, FL) announced that it is expanding its fiber optic assembly and copper assembly capabilities to meet growing client demands.
“This past year was an exceptional one for Custom Cable Industries, and we expect 2012 to be even better,” says Tom Ward, president. “We are more than doubling our fiber optic assembly capacity as a result of recent capital improvements and look forward to achieving our FOC certification for fiber assemblies by mid-year 2012.”
Ward attributes his company's expansion to continued demand for high bandwidth devices and growing market requirements, including 4G/LTE network build outs and upgrades, wireless backhaul build outs, cloud service centers, power utility projects, county/state projects and independent telephone fiber builds that were awarded stimulus funding. Ward notes that Custom Cable’s capacity expansion includes copper assembly, in addition to fiber optic assembly.

“As business and individual usage increases for personal devices, there must be comparable increases in bandwidth and the network components Custom Cable produces,” he says. “In addition, as we continue to diversify our customer mix and expand from our traditional base of telecom to power and utility applications, we expect to see a significant increase in demand from those sectors as well.”
Ward adds, “We are also moving forward with FOC certification and project a mid-year 2012 completion for gaining this stringent certification. This will further enhance our fiber optic product offerings and capabilities.”
In addition to anticipated FOC certification, Ward points to a number of other recent accomplishments for Custom Cable Industries, including March 2011 TL 9000-H and ISO 9001:2008 recertification, Telcordia GR-326 – Issue 4 certification for LC and SC singlemode fiber optic connector assemblies and receipt of a 2011 Supplier Excellence Award from Jabil.
