Wirewerks' 12RU swing-out rack ideal for space-limited PoPs, edge locations

Wirewerks' new Wall-Mount 12RU Swing-Out Rack enables off-the-floor installation of panels and active equipment in small spaces.

Network infrastructure solutions manufacturer Wirewerks (Montreal, QC) this week introduced its Wall-Mount 12RU Swing-Out Rack product, designed to free-up floor space in small locations.

The company says the new rack maximizes space in PoPs, base stations and edge facilities, with a swing-out design that optimizes operations by providing easy rear access to installed panels and equipment.

The unit's wall-mount configuration maximizes floor space, while its swing-out design enables full access to the back of installed equipment and cabling for easy installation, maintenance, and operation.

Key design features include selectable left or right-hand swing action; and integrated cable management features including cable routing, bend-radius protection, and cable attachment and strain-relief to secure and protect cables.

The rack’s top panel provides a protected space for service loop or slack storage, and is pre-drilled for mounting an optional Wirewerks Open Spool cable reel.

Bruno Gaeta, Wirewerks’ sr. vice president of sales, said, “Our broadband customers tell us that the Wall-Mount 12RU Swing-Out Rack is a real problem-solver in their always space-limited PoPs and edge locations, and in their 5G DAS/IBW and FTTP/MDU network deployments."

The rack accepts all manufacturers’ industry-standard 19” rack-mount panels and active equipment, including Wirewerks’ own NextSTEP, LGXtra, and Keywerks brand patch panels and enclosures.

The company added that the rack’s precision-engineered design, robust materials and quality manufacturing ensure exceptional durability and reliability over an extended operational lifespan. The rack ships flat for easy handling, storage and reduced transportation costs, and assembles easily in minutes without special tools.
