Platinum Tools recently announced the availability of its PTS Pro Crimp Tool, which “allows for the termination of both ezEX-RJ45 connectors and the legacy EZ-RJ45 connectors in a single tool with no part changes,” according to product manager Sean Rothermel. “This is a single tool for all Platinum Tools terminations.”
The PTS—which stands for Pass Through Standard—uses a sliding plate to change between the different connector types, and a captive thumb screw to swap between connector styles. The crimper’s connector-locking mechanism enables connectors to click into the tool for termination. Its handle includes cutting and stripping blades for Category 5e and Category 6 cable.
In addition to crimping both pass-through and standard RJ45 connectors, the PTS Pro Crimp Tool offers the following characteristics and capabilities.
Wiring guide printed directly on the tool
Ergonomic grip for comfort during extended use
Replaceable blades
Smooth single-cycle operation
Accommodation of both unshielded and shielded twisted-pair connectors
