RiT’s DCIM, intelligent infrastructure management technology specified into Furukawa Industrial’s cabling systems

Dec. 3, 2013
Furukawa Industrial SA integrates the capabilities into its product offerings for Brazil, Argentina, Chile and other Latin American countries.

RiT Technologies recently announced it has received orders from Furukawa Industrial SA (FISA) in excess of US $1.75 million. FISA, RiT’s OEM partner in Brazil and other Latin American countries, manufactures structured cabling systems and optical-fiber networks. It is a subsidiary of Japan’s Furukawa Group and, according to RiT’s announcement, has significant market share of the Brazilian, Argentinian and Chilean structured cabling industries.

Jose Alcantara, FISA’s planning and new-business manager, stated, “Intelligent infrastructure is critical for today’s smart buildings, and RiT offers multiple IIM [intelligent infrastructure management] solutions. By integrating RiT’s IIM and DCIM [data center infrastructure management] into our product offering, we provide our customers with new capabilities that improve the management of IT network infrastructure. This in turn translates directly into higher network efficiency and reduction in costs—two key advantages that help us close deals. Based on our success in 2013, we have a goal to further increase order quantities in 2014.”

FISA deploys the IIM and DCIM solutions for commercial and government infrastructure products, RiT said, and these technologies speed up project installation, optimize operations and enhance efficiency of HVAC, energy and access systems.

RiT’s president and chief executive officer Vadim Leiderman commented, “We are excited that FISA, Latin America’s leading structured cabling firm, has become a champion of the intelligent infrastructure concept pioneered byRiT. As Brazil prepares for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, we expect the building boom to continue, which should position us well for continued growth.

“Our success with FISA demonstrates the momentum RiT is developing as a provider of state-of-the-art infrastructure management systems,” Dr. Leiderman continued. “We focus on partnering with leading structured cabling vendors such as FISA, which have potential to promote our business offerings, including the PatchView+ interconnected solution and our CenterMind DCIM software.”
