Fiber access technology expert Transition Networks will be at the 2014 BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition (Sep. 28 - Oct. 2) in Anaheim, CA, where the company will debut and demonstrate recently launched solutions in the show's exhibition hall, speak in a panel discussion on network conversion technology, and participate as a corporate sponsor.
Transition Networks will be in exhibit booth #522, demonstrating its newly released Scorpion-USB Ethernet Adapter that enables tablets, laptops or other computers to be connected directly to fiber-optic network ports. Also being showcased will be the company’s full line of copper to fiber media conversion products, hardened Ethernet switches and Power-over-Ethernet devices.
Curt Carlson, product manager for Transition Networks, will be speaking on Wednesday, October 1, 3:00-4:00 pm on the topic of “10G CWDM Conversion Technology – Simplifying Today’s Challenges.” The discussion will cover some of the options available to network providers, enterprises, and government agencies who have reached a point where laying more fiber is no longer feasible or economical. Mr. Carlson will discuss the drivers of 10G CWDM technologies and share some real-world applications.
“Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technologies are being used to increase the capacity of existing fiber infrastructure in data center environments,” said Carlson. “My presentation will explain how CWDM provides a simple, affordable method of aggregation, fiber extension and bandwidth consolidation.”
