Black Box appoints seasoned optical products exec to board of directors

Former PPG executive Richard Elias is elected to Black Box's board of directors.
Network technology solutions specialist Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ: BBOX) announced that it has elected Mr. Richard Elias to its its board of directors. According to a press release, Elias served as senior vice president - optical and specialty materials of PPG Industries, Inc. from July 2008 through his retirement on April 1, 2014. Prior to that he held the position of vice president, optical products of PPG Industries.
Earlier in his career, as president of Transition Optical, Inc. (TOI), Elias was instrumental in the development of TOI as among the world's leading global prescription lens brands and a noted leader in employee engagement; the company was awarded the Gallup Great Workplace award four times. Elias is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and holds an M.B.A. from Marquette University.
