HDMI extender uses single SC multimode fiber-optic strand

NTI's XTendex fiber-optic HDMI extender cable locates an HDMI display up to 3,280 ft. away from a video source.

Network Technologies Inc. (NTI) added the XTendex fiber-optic HDMI extender to its line of video extension cables. The XTendex fiber-optic HDMI extender cable locates an HDMI display up to 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) away from a video source using a single SC multimode fiber-optic strand.

The ST-FOHD-SC50 HDMI extender via fiber-optic cable supports HDTV resolutions to 1080p and computer resolutions to 1920x1200. Supported HDMI features include: 12-bit Deep Color; Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital, and DTS; bandwidth up to 7.8 Gbps; CEC (consumer electronic control) compatible devices. The extender is HDCP compliant and supports the DDC2B protocol.

Each extender consists of a transmitter that connects to a video source and a receiver that connects to a display. The signals are transmitted over a single-strand multimode SC fiber optic cable with no RF interference. The fiber-optic HDMI extender requires no software to be installed. The fiber-optic cable can be installed in conduit prior to extender installation. The product's compact and durable design allows for easy connection and placement, says NTI.
