August 18, 2009 -- Leviton released its C1 Ultra Composite copper cable patch panel, which is constructed of polymer materials and offers a stylish look for a wide range of customization options.

The C1 Ultra is available in 2RU 48-port 110-style and QuickPort field-configurable models. Each panel includes two integrated patch cord managers and two rear cable management bars. The patch cord managers attach directly to the face of the panel, conserving rack space and saving cost for the end user, according to the company. The panel is made of glass-filled polymer composite, and performed better than standard 16 AWG metal panels in applied force tests of 20-lb loads, claims Leviton.

Those who choose to customize the C1 Ultra are able to download an artwork template from the Leviton website and provide their own colors, logos, designs, and functionality to the face of the panel. The standard C1 Ultra panel without customization comes in charcoal grey and includes the Leviton logo.

"The C1 Ultra is a leap forward in patch panel construction and design," comments Keith Kosanovich, RCDD, Leviton's senior product manager for copper systems. "In addition to its robust construction, unique look and customizable face, the panel was also designed to complement the look of Leviton's Opt-X Ultra fiber enclosure and Versi-Duct cable management system, making it ideal for showcase environments with advanced networks."
