TIA webconference compares connectivity options

March 30, 2011
Presentation offers information on what to consider, discusses emerging technologies.

A webconference entitled "A Comparative Analysis of Connectivity Solutions in the Data Center" and produced by the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section (FOLS) will be held April 12 from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm EDT.

The conference will be presented by Josh Seawell of FOLS member Sumitomo Electric Lightwave. Attendees who hold certain BICSI professional credentials will be able to earn one continuing education credit (CEC) for their attendance.

"While connectivity is initially only a small percentage of the overall data center spend, connectivity decisions can be felt in customer satisfaction, quality of service, MACs response, density response and revenue," the FOLS says in material describing the conference. Seawell's presentation will let attendees know what to consider when evaluating connectivity, discuss existing solutions, make insertion-loss and return-loss comparisons, and present emerging connectivity solutions.
