Audio over fiber solves distance challenges

ComNet says its transmitter-and-receiver set is an economical choice for applications like public address announcements and broadcast-quality audio.

An audio-over-fiber product set from ComNet Communications Networks promises to solve the challenges that come with transmitting audio over long distances. The ComNet ValueLine FVXATC1 transmitter and FVXARC1 receiver transmit a single line-level audio and contact closure signal over one multimode or singlemode optical fiber. ComNet says the product set works well where standard line-level audio and contact need to be transported more than a few hundred feet, including applications like public address announcements and broadcast-quality audio.

ComNet's vice president of marketing Skip Haight notes that as part of the company's ValueLine, the FVXATC1 and FVXARC1 product set are low-cost aduio options. "Our products are innovative, environmentally hardened and offer a very high level of performance at competitive pricing," he says. Both he and ComNet president Andrew Acquarulo noted the product set is designed and manufactured in the United States.

The audio-over-fiber products join a set of fiber-optic video and data-transmission equipment available from ComNet.
