Seminar addresses 40G and 100G testing

Presented by the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section, the seminar will focus on DMD testing, array connector solutions and total system performance.

A web seminar put on by the Fiber Optics LAN Section of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) will explain how users can ensure their array-connected multimode fiber systems are capable of transmitting 40- and 100-Gbit/sec traffic. Entitled "Ensuring 40/100G Performance: Multimode Fiber Bandwidth Testing and Array Solutions," the web seminar will be held live at 11:00am EST on Monday, December 20. The information will be presented by Kevin Paschal of CommScope, who also recently presented on the topic of OM4 fiber and 40/100G standards during a web seminar hosted by Cabling Installation & Maintenance.

On the 20th, Paschal will cover:

  • Differential mode delay (DMD) testing in the factory
  • Assumptions that make DMD testing work and the difficulties of evaluating non-standard fibers
  • Array solutions for 40/100G
  • System performance

Seminar attendees are eligible to receive one continuing education credit for certain professional designations offered by BICSI.

A hydraulic earth drill with a high-torque anchor handle and utility anchor adapter can significantly improve safety for anchor installation.
Enabling a one-person install, the earth drill has several advantages over manually setting drive rods or using anchor crankers.

These Tower Tech XR cooling towers use evaporative cooling to remove heat generated within the data center by IT equipment. Composite cooling towers are more compact and significantly lighter than metal towers. They arrive at a data center site pre-built.
Data center designers shouldn’t sleep on the benefits of fiberglass construction materials.
